3 skeins of worsted weight yarn (or however many colors that will make you happy!)
Size H Hook
Large eye needle to weave in loose ends
With Navy, chain 285.
Row 1: Chain 3 - counts as Double Crochet (DC), 4 DC in 4th ch from hook, (DC in next ch, sk next ch) 8x, DC in next ch, 5 DC in next ch, *5 DC in next ch, (DC in next ch, sk next ch) 8x, DC im next ch, 5 DC in next ch; rep from * to end. Repeat from * to end. Chain 1, turn.
Row 2: SC (single crochet) in each stitch to end of row.
Row 3: Chain 3, 4 DC in 4th st from hook, (DC in next st, sk next st) 8x, DC in next st, 5 DC in next st, *5 DC in next st, (DC in next st, sk next st) 8x, DC in next st, 5 DC in next st; rep from * to end. Chain 1, turn.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3, alternating colors as you'd like.
Add fringe for an optional trim, making one fringe for each stripe on each end.

"Silk Feathers"
2 Skeins of Fingering Weight Yarn (i used 2 skeins of Elsebeth Lavold's silk, i think - - of COURSE the wrappers are missing and i'd already wound it into cakes!
Size 5 needles
Cast On 38 stitches and knit 3 rows.
Begin working Feather and Fan lace pattern as follows:
Row 1 - K1, *k2tog 3x, (yo, k1) 6x, k2tog 3x; repeat from * to last stitch, K1.
Row 2 - Purl
Row 3 - Knit
Row 4 - Purl
Repeat Rows 1-4 until you are close to the end of your 1st skein. Place these stitches on a holder and repeat the entire process with your 2nd skein of yarn.
Place the "held" stitches back on a needle so they can be joined with the live stitches you just finished on the 2nd half of the scarf. Using the Kitchener Stitch join these halves to create a special and unique intersection and that will allow the ends of the scarf to match.
Weave in tails, block and enjoy!

"Eternal Braid"
2 skeins Deborah Norville "Everyday Soft Worsted" - Aubergine
Small amount of "Waste" Yarn, worsted weight
Size 11 needles
Size J crochet hook
Cable Needle
Tapestry Needle
Option 1: If you just want a standard sized long braid for a scarf then skip the Provisional Cast on instructions. Simply work the pattern holding 2 strands of yarn at the same time and use a traditional cast on method. Cast on 16 stitches and begin following pattern at Row 1.
Option 2: Eternity Ring
Using the waste yarn and crochet hook, "cast on" 16 stitches. (great instructions for this)
Switch to Main Color for the rest of the scarf: Knit, holding 2 strands throughout.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2 and all even rows: Slip 1 Purlwise with Yarn in Front (pyif), Knit 1, Purl 12, K2.
Row 3: Slip 1pyif, Knit to end of row.
Row 5: Slip 1pyif, Knit 1, C8B, Knit to end of row.
Rows 7, 9: Repeat Row 3
Row 11: Slip 1 pyif, Knit 5, C8F, Knit to end of row.
Rows 13, 15: Repeat Row 3
Row 16: Repeat Row 2
Repeat Rows 5 - 16 for a total of 21 repeats.
If you are using Option 1 then Bind off when scarf is desired length.
For Option 2 the fun is just beginning! Cut your yarn approximately 4 times longer than the width of your scarf and thread through the tapestry needle. Set this end aside while 'unzipping' your provisional cast on. Once 'unzipped', place the new 'live' stitches on a needle and get ready to work Kitchener Stitch to join the ends into a ring. Once again, the link for the Crochet Cast On also has a link for the Kitchener Stitch instructions as well!
Weave in tails and wrap and go!
C8B - slip 4 stitches onto Cable Needle and lay behind knitting. Knit the NEXT 4 stitches and then pull the 4 stitches on the Cable Needle back up and knit them.
C8F - slip 4 stitches onto Cable Needle and lean then over towards the FRONT side of the knitting. Knit the NEXT 4 stitches and then raise the 4 stitches on the Cable Needle back up and knit them.
"The Long and Short of It"
1 skein Patons Classic Wool - Dark Gray Mix (A)
1 skein Lion Brand Wool - Goldenrod (B)
1 skein Lion Brand Wool - Pumpkin (C)
Size 9 needles - 24" circular
finished: 5.5" x 74" (before adding fringe)
With color A and using a Cable Cast On, cast on 250 stitches. (you might want to place some type of marker along the way just to help w/ the initial stitch count)
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl. Cut yarn and leave tail for weaving.
Row 3: With Color B, *Knit 2, Purl 2*, repeat across, ending w/ K2
Row 4: *Purl 2, Knit 2*, repeat across, ending w/ P2Row 6: *Knit 2, Purl 2*, repeat across, ending with K2
Row 7-8: Repeat Rows 3-4. Cut yarn and leave tail for weaving.
Row 9: Switch Back to Color A, and Knit.
Row10: Purl.
Row 11: Knit. Cut yarn and leave tail for weaving.
Row 12: With Color C, *Knit 1, Purl 1*, repeat to end.
Row 13: *Purl 1, Knit 1*, repeat to end.
Row 14 - 19: Repeat Rows 12-13.
Row 20-22: Repeat Rows 9-11
Row 23: Repeat Rows 3-8.
Row 29: With Color A, Knit
Row 30: Purl
Row 31: Bind Off.
Weave in all the loose ends. Wrap and go ... or attach fringe if it makes your heart happy!

Row 11: Knit. Cut yarn and leave tail for weaving.

"Squeeze Me"
2 Skeins - bulky weight - Color A
1 Skein - worsted weight - Color B (doubled)
Size 15 needles
Size 11 needles
Using the LARGER needles and Color A, cast on 20 stitches.
Row 1: (RS) Knit
Row 2: (WS) Purl
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 three more times for a total of 8 rows knit in Stockinette Stitch.
Row 9: K2tog (10 stitches remain). Cut Color A, leaving tail to weave in.
Row 10: (WS) Change to Color B and smaller needles, beginning the Ribbing pattern *P2, K2*, repeat ** ending with P2.
Row 11: (RS) *K2, P2*, repeat **, ending with K2.
Repeat Rows 10 & 11 one more time and then end with Row 10. Cut Color B, leaving tail to weave in.
Change back to LARGER needles for the next section.
Row 15: (RS) Kfb of each sttich to end of row. (20 stitches)

Row 16: Purl
Row 17: Knit
Continue with Rows 16 and 17, ending with a Purl Row when section is approximatley 5" long.
Repeat instructions for Rows 10-11 between each of the stockinette sections.
Scarf should contain 2 end Stockinette ruffles and 11 main Stockinette Sections, with ribbing in between each section.
(For this scarf i used Loops & Threads "Country Loom" in Driftwood and Landscape [because i didn't buy enough the 1st trip and they ran out so i had to substitute] and Loops & Thread "Impeccable" in Brown for the ribbing sections. Both yarns are available at Michaels but any "Homespun" type yarn would work fine. Or why not consider doing each section in a different color and making the ribbing your 'unifying' color by doing it in black? Or you could do the entire scarf in a solid color for a completely different effect. I would still use 2 different size needles to keep the gathering 'effects' going.
