Now, to attach the eyes :

Center the black/white Inner Eye over the Green Outer eye, and stitch the white circle to the Green.  Repeat for the other eye.

Attach the completed eye securely to the bib.  I used the edge of the strap as a coordinate for balance, placing each eye 2 stitches off center (from early measuring)

Using a large eye sewing needle and a long length of black (approximately 60”), thread yarn through needle DOUBLED.  Pull the doubled yarn through and use the loop from where you doubled your length of yarn to secure this black to the green on the backside.  Chain stitch a smile for your little frog.  (you could opt to use a long running stitch that is anchored in place if you don’t know how to do a chain stitch yet.  Just make him happy).

                                        Funny Bunny Bath Time Wrap
sized for 0-3 months

you'll need:
Size 10 needles
2 skeins Cotton/Acrylic Blend - White  ( i used Baby Bee from Hobby Lobby)
1 skein Cotton/Acrylic Blend - Pink

This is simply a Combo Pattern - adaptations of the Basic Washcloth and cute little bunny hat pattern that i found and put together for a sweet little bathtime hug!

With the White Yarn cast on 3 stitches.
Row 1:  Knit 2, YO, Knit to end.
Repeat Row 1 until piece measures 30" across.

Begin decrease as follows:
Row 2:  Knit 1, K2tog, YO, K2tog, knit to end.
Repeat Row 2 until you have 15 stitches remaining.
Bind off.

Using the same white yarn, cast on 56 stitches. Join, being careful not to twist.  Knit for 4 inches.
Begin decrease as follows:
Row 1:  K5, k2tog, repeat around.
Row 2 & 3:  Knit
Row 4:  K4, k2tog, repeat around.
Row 5 & 6:  Knit
Row 7:  K3, k2tog, repeat around.
Row 8:  Knit
Row 9:  K2, k2tog, repeat around.
Row 10:  Knit
Row 11:  K1, k2tog, repeat around.
Row 12:  k2tog, repeat around
Break yarn, thread through remaining stitches, pull up and secure.

Rabbit Ears:
Cast on 12 stitches with White, then directly following cast on 10 stitches with Pink.
(the Right side of the ear will have a panel of White in Stockinette Stitch, and a slightly smaller panel of Pink in reverse stockinette, so that the inner ear section will fit snugly inside the ear flap, and have a little bit of texture.)

Row 1:  (RS)  Purl 10 stitches in Pink, Knit 12 stitches in White.
Row 2:  (WS)  Purl 12 stitches in White, Knit 10 stitches in Pink.
Repeat Rows 1-2 for 12 rows total.  Remember to twist the strands of yarn around each other once so that the transition does not require seaming.

Decrease Row 1:  Pink - purl 2 together, purl 6, purl 2 together, White - k2tog, k8, k2tog.
Row 2:  work in pattern with no decreases (knit the knits, purl the purls)

Continue with these 2 rows until there is/are 1 Pink stitch left and 2 White stitches left.  Cut the Pink yarn leaving 5 inches of tail.  Pull that through the remaining stitch end that section.  Cut the White yarn leaving about 12 inches of tail.  Thread the tail through a needle, and loop it through the last 2 White stitches.

Using the long tail of White, sew up the side seam.  (i turned the ear Right Sides together and stitched it up and then flipped it back over for a more seamless finish).  Attach each ear to the hat by stitching the front AND the back of the ear to the hat so that the weight of the ear is secured more evenly.

Once ears are attached, attach the hat to the 15 stitch bound off edge of the towel ... and enjoy the sweet little eyes that will soon be peeking out from beneath those floppy little ears!

Little Bit Mits
sized for 0 - 3 months
 - these sweet little mitts are knit flat and seamed up the side.  a really quick and easy project, add a hat, and you've got a sweet treat for sure!

you'll need:
Size 5 needles
Size 6 needles
1 skein Baby Jacquard Spearmint Candy (or any DK weight yarn)
Tapestry Needle
Crochet Hook, size E (optional)
With Size 5 needles, Cast On 30 stitches.

Row 1: K1, P1 rib to end.
Repeat for 10 rows TOTAL.

Switch to Size 6 needles and increase 4 stitches as follows:

Row 11: Knit 6, Make 1 (M1) by inserting the tip of your Left Needle, from front to back, beneath the horizontal bar between the stitch you just knit and the one that is waiting to be knit.  Lift this bar onto your Left Needle and knit into the BACK of this new loop. The twist that is created will leave a very small, unnoticeable hole where you have made the new stitch. then contine knitting . . Knit 6, M1, K6, M1, M6, M1, K to end. (34 stitches)

Row 12: Purl
Row 13: Knit
Repeat 12 - 13 until total length from cast on equals 2”, ending on a Purl Row.

Begin decrease as follows:
Row 1: k1, ssk, k11, k2tog, k2, ssk, k11, k2tog, k1
Row 2: purl
Row 3: k1, ssk, k9, k2tog, k2, ssk, k9, k2tog, k1
Row 4: purl
Row 5: k1, ssk, k7, k2tog, k2, ssk, k7, k2tog, k1
Row 6: purl
Row 7: k1, ssk, k5, k2tog, k2, ssk, k5, k2tog, k1
Row 8: purl
Row 9: k1, ssk, k3, k2tog, k2, ssk, k3, k2tog, k1 (14 stitches)

Cut yarn, leaving enough to pull through the remaining 14 stitches and then using a matress
stitch, stitch sides closed. Weave in ends.

Because i used the Jacquard type yarn and i would like the mittens to 'match', i'm by-passing some of the pink so that i can have them coordinate as closely as possible.

If you're feeling 'adventurous' you can always add a crocheted chain, approximately 25-30" long to keep these little ones connected, and one less thing for Mom to have to look for!

Because these little mitts take very little yarn, why not add a cute little hat, also knit flat and seamed up when finished.

Sweet Treat

Just  a Little Loopy

(sized for toddler)

You'll need:
Size 13 16” circular needles
Wool Ease Thick & Quick – 1 skein Denim
Crochet Hook – used for pulling braids through earflap

1st earflap
Cast on 4 stitches
1: Knit
2: Knit
3: K1, Yo, K to 1 stitch before the end, YO, K.
4: K1, Ktbl, Knit to 2 stitches before the end, Ktbl, K.
5-6: Knit

Repeat Rows 3-6 one more time. Cut yarn leaving enough tail to weave in … and slide this earflap to the back of your needle (so that it is just resting in the middle of your circulars)

Repeat again for 2nd flap but do NOT cut the yarn when you are finished knitting. Using a cable cast on, Cast On 9 stitches (for the back of the hat). Put these stitches into your Right Hand now, pull the 1st earflap into place on the Left Needle and Knit across the 1st earflap, and then using the cable cast on, cast on 16 stitches. Slip the last of the cast on stitches back over beside the earflap (which has now worked its way around to the left needle again) and knit these 2 stitches together to join, being careful not to twist. Place marker.

Row 1: PURL
Row 2: Knit
Repeat Rows 1-2 two more times. (alternating knit and purl rows will result in garter stitch for the band of the hat)

After garter stitch for 6 rows, begin knitting in the round, each row, until the cap measures approximately 5” from the cast on row on the front of the cap.

Shape Crown:

Row 1: *Knit 3, K2tog *, repeat.
Row 2, 4: Knit
Row 3: *Knit 2, K2tog * repeat
Row 5: *Knit 1, K2tog *
Row 6: *K2tog*, repeat.

Cut yarn, leaving a tail long enough to pull through and close the top of the hat, and then weave the ends in securely.

Side Braids:

Cut 6 pieces of yarn 22” long. Using a crochet hook, pull 3 strands through on each side. Once pulled through, fold the lengths in half and divide by 2’s to braid. Braid to the end and tie a knot approximately 1.5” above the end. Repeat for 2nd braid.

For the floppy top, cut a piece of yarn 7” long and set aside to use as a tie once the loops are made.

Next, leave a tail of yarn approximately 4” long and then begin making Figure 8’s by measuring out 6” and gathering it into the center, 6” and bring to center, etc ….. until you have 20 loops. Measure an additional 4” and let this hang as a tail and cut this yarn.

Now, using your 7” piece of yarn tie it securely around the loops and double knot it in order to hold the loops in place. Pull the tails of this 7" piece of yarn through the top of the cap and secure, weaving the ends in place. Next, pull each of the 4” tails on the “loop” section through the top of the hat and secure them as well. (baiscally you're securing the loops with 2 seperate knots!) Weave these ends in, and enjoy!
